Dahlia Café on Burnage Lane feels less like a typical café and more like a warm local hub where community and quality food intersect. This spot leans into a casual, welcoming atmosphere where you can drop in for a relaxed breakfast or a comforting lunch that easily suits families, friends, and solo visitors alike. With an emphasis on female empowerment, the ethos here creates an inviting backdrop where the staff genuinely seem invested in making everyone feel at home.

The menu offers a solid mix of hearty breakfast options and comforting daytime meals. Their English Breakfast and the sizzling shakshouka stand out as popular choices — the shakshouka arrives with generous sides and authentic flavors that feel thoughtfully prepared rather than rushed. For those after classic British comfort food, the halal roast dinners and fish and chips are well-regarded, often praised for portion size and care in cooking. There’s also a children’s menu with simple favourites like chicken goujons and fish fingers, making Dahlia Café chummy for families seeking fuss-free dining.

This is a café where you’d likely spend a sunny late morning enjoying an espresso or settling in with a slice of honey cake, a local specialty praised for its rich, layered taste. Locals value the café not only for food but for a place to gather comfortably, whether it’s a casual catch-up, a weekend brunch, or a community event – the layout and vibe support lingering and conversation rather than rushing.

Customer service here steps beyond the usual; attentive and friendly without being overbearing, staff clearly take pride in welcoming guests and accommodating various needs. The atmosphere feels both bustling and relaxed, where groups can hold events, but also where solo visitors can feel like part of a quiet community.

Overall, Dahlia Café suits anyone looking for a familiar, grounded experience with honest food and a genuine local spirit. Mornings and weekends seem like peak times to visit, when the fresh breakfast dishes and baked treats come into their own, while weekday lunches offer comforting classics in a warm, conversational setting.

Went here for lamb roast dinner. Was yummy I came with about 10 other friends here and we had an event. Great customer service. Very accommodating and friendly staff. Love the ethos of the place. They empower women into employment and train up women who've never worked before. Really great vibe. A community cafe in the true sense. I will be back!

The absolute best cafe for a layered honey cake- it tastes so incredible that I always have one at the cafe and take out another for later in the day. The shakshouka is so flavourful and delicious, it is really authentic tasting and comes with lots of little sides. Very generous portion. I highly recommend this cafe for breakfast/lunch, everything is made to a very high standard.

Had a delicious halal roast dinner and a slice of the memorable and mouthwatering honey cake! If you haven’t been here then you need to. It’s not just a cafe or restaurant, it’s like visiting family. So welcoming, warm and relaxed. The owner and staff treat you like family and couldn’t be more helpful. Dahlias isn’t just about food and drink, it’s also about female empowerment as it employs women from all over the world who might have struggled to find employment elsewhere, so show your support whilst getting extremely well fed!

An absolutely lovely spot! I came here with my family and we all enjoyed it, it’s incredibly difficult to find a nice halal roast dinner and Dahlias nailed it The customer service was beyond amazing, all of the staff go above and beyond to cater to everyone’s needs and make them feel welcome. I will most definitely be visiting again and cannot wait to try the honey cake

We had a fabulous Christmas dinner today. The service was excellent and the food was cooked to perfection. I recommend that if you’re in the area call in you won’t be disappointed.

What an amazing service they provide here. The quality cafe is open to the public. They are a gold standard of excellence in caring for more vulnerable members of society and their carers who also appreciate a good meal.

Simply fantastic. Welcomed with a smile into a genuinely welcoming atmosphere, where the other customers are more like friends to the owner. The place is nicely decorated and very clean, even providing a toy box for the little ones. And then the food is proper food cooked by proper cooks - none of this Instagram melty cheese viral nonsense that everywhere else does. We had the shaksuka, panini and a few roast dinners. All was really lovely. The owners special cake just topped off a fantastic afternoon. Had a fantastic time and we aim to return

Had the Roast at Dalhia Cafe and was pleasantly surprised — it was delicious, well-portioned, and very reasonably priced. A solid spot for a comforting roast without breaking the bank.
